Meet Paisley
Meet our newest hero, Paisley! 7-year-old Paisley is sweet as pie and the toughest little princess you'll ever meet. She was diagnosed with scimitar syndrome and pulmonary hypertension (PH) which drives heart/lung failure.
But Paisley is so much more than her diagnoses. She is the brightest light and a true warrior.

We are so happy to have met Paisley and her family at Ford Field before the Lions vs Buccaneers game! It is clear their love and light have surrounded Paisley her whole life because they are all such kind, beautiful souls.
Aidan carried Paisley's mantra and her shining light into the game:
Her heart may be fragile, but her spirit is unbreakable.
Paisley's Story:
Paisley was born already fighting a battle few could see—and even fewer understood. Within her first week of life, she was diagnosed with a rare and complex Congenital Heart Disease known as Scimitar Syndrome (1 in every 100,000 births). Alongside it, she was born with a hypoplastic (underdeveloped) right lung leaving her with only one functioning lung. That lung, under constant strain, puts immense pressure on her heart—causing both to struggle.

She spent nearly her entire first year at Mott Children’s Hospital, which quickly became our second home. During that time, Paisley underwent a tracheostomy and came home on a ventilator—a daunting and emotional journey, especially as first-time parents. But through every challenge, she showed us what true strength looks like. After four long years, she was finally decannulated (removal of a tracheostomy tube)—a huge milestone and moment of hope.

Today, Paisley continues to face her condition with unmatched courage. She returns to the cardiac cath lab each year for procedures to reduce the pressure on her heart. As of now, there’s no cure or surgical solution available, and we’re in ongoing discussions with specialists across the country about a possible heart-lung transplant.

Paisley is the definition of a warrior. Her resilience, spirit, and joy for life are truly inspiring and a reminder of how powerful hope and determination can be.
Paisley lights up when she's dancing and singing to the Jonas Brothers and Taylor Swift. She loves cheering for monster trucks, or spending time with her friends at the Northville Township fire station. She’s passionate about all things doctor play, and already dreams of becoming a heart surgeon to help kids just like her.

Paisley and her shimmering sunshine have taught us that we can't possibly walk down a path forward without first bathing in light. No matter our circumstances, we must keep fighting with a lightness in our hearts because that is what it means to have hope.
Please pray for Paisley as she continues on her journey and consider donating to Paisley's Toy Drive at Mott Children's Hospital.
Love Always,
Team Hutch
