Meet Elijah

Meet our newest hero, Elijah! 10-year-old Elijah has been bravely battling Sickle Cell Anemia since birth, facing countless hospital stays and major medical challenges with strength far beyond his years.

Meeting Elijah and his amazing mom in the hospital was nothing short of amazing; the energy they brought to the room was electric. We could’ve chatted with them all afternoon talking about all things Lions football and Stranger Things.

We couldn’t name a more iconic duo than Elijah and his mom. Together, they can tackle anything.

Aidan walked into the Lions vs Steelers game with Elijah's mantra written boldly across his water jug:

"Faith over Sickle.”

Elijah's Story:

10-year-old Elijah Dottery has been bravely battling Sickle Cell Anemia since birth, facing countless hospital stays and major medical challenges with strength far beyond his years. This summer, Elijah took a courageous step toward hope by undergoing a bone marrow transplant. After more than 100 days in the hospital, he continues to fight with determination and faith.

Elijah is now receiving a newly FDA-approved stem cell therapy, becoming the first patient at the University of Michigan to receive this treatment an incredible milestone in his journey.

Elijah loves to play Roblox with his friend Chris and Elijah R. He also loves to go to indoor and outdoor water parks, ride his bike and play basketball. Lately he has enjoyed binge-watching Stranger Things.
