Meet Milo
Meet our newest hero, Milo! We met 4-year-old Milo in the hospital and had so much fun playing trucks with him. He was the sweetest, gentlest soul.
Milo was diagnosed with Pre-B Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) in 2024, but has remained just as bright and beautiful as when he entered this world.
Aidan walked into the Lions vs Browns game with Milo’s mantra on his water jug.
Milo’s mom said, “We have a list of 9 affirmations we say every night before bed and the first three are ‘I am big and brave and strong.’ We started saying these right after he was born but had no idea how true these would be just 3 years later.”
Milo’s Story:
Milo was diagnosed with Pre-B Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) in November, 2024. We went from a pediatrician appointment for what we thought was a rash to a leukemia diagnosis in about 18 hours. What seemed like the world was ending for us as his parents, Milo took it head on. Seeing how truly resilient he has been through all of his treatments, procedures, and pokes has made us so proud. His world flipped upside down; no more daycare, no more social activities, no more trips to go see family and he just adapted like it was just another day.
We always let him know that it’s ok to be afraid.
He’s always struggled with getting his port accessed for infusion. He was so afraid of the process because he knew what was coming, but he still handles it like a champ every time! No matter how hard his days or appointments have been, he still remains our sweet boy. He’s had set backs in treatments, but no treatment is linear and every kid is different. He adapts and overcomes every single time.
We are not originally from Michigan and have only lived here a few years due to being stationed here for the military. Our closest family support system is 8 hours away but we have never felt alone in this journey due to the support we have around us.
Milo is so many big things wrapped into one little human. He’s so smart and inquisitive. His energy is unmatched. He loves bowling, cars, excavators, monster trucks, snacks, rough housing, his doggy Jameson, and anything that has to do with a ball. In his world, anything can become a bowling ball and upins. He loves to visit his Nana’s farm to feed the goats and donkeys cookies—he can’t wait until he can go back. We can’t go a Saturday without going to Cracker Barrel for pancakes and bacon (he’s become quite popular with the staff). But, one thing he loves more than anything are his people. His people bring him comfort. He’s just got the biggest little heart.
