Our hero, Kayden
Meet our newest hero, Kayden Strong. It's not a hashtag, Strong is actually his last name—which we find more than fitting.
18-year-old Kayden was born on Valentine’s Day, diagnosed with hypoplastic right heart syndrome (HRHS) and placed on donor list at one day old. He received a heart transplant 68 days later. Last July, he was diagnosed with PTLD, which is a lymphoma specific to solid organ transplant patients due to the immune suppressive drugs. He has been through two unsuccessful chemotherapy treatments, T-cell replacement therapy and radiation. It is still progressive and he started another chemotherapy treatment last week.
Kayden is an amazing kid and enjoys collecting diecast cars and Hot Wheels. He loves cars fast, exotic and can name them all! He enjoys gaming on his Xbox and camping with family, friends and girlfriend.
We are so inspired by the fighting spirit Kayden has had since the day he was born. His mantra throughout his journey is “be strong and courageous” and that is exactly what he’s done. Please keep Kayden in your prayers as he continues fighting💙
Love Always,
Team Hutch
