HERO OF THE WEEK

We can hardly believe the Lions just played their final game of the regular season! Aidan dedicated this commemorative game to 12-year-old Sidney. On Christmas day we had the pleasure to meet her, her brother Slater, and her parents.

Sidney Squad is very special.

The power of family is so strong—especially during tough times.
Here's their story:

In September 2023, Sidney was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS) with transformation to Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). She is a fun-loving girl who is always making us laugh and smile and cancer hasn’t changed that one bit. She loves spending time with her friends and family, but mostly enjoys supporting her cousins at different sporting events. In fact, the first question she asked the doctors after learning she had cancer was if she would be able to go the football game on that Friday night.

Since diagnosis, Sidney has remained strong, accepts the challenges that each day brings and of course continues to cheer on her family between her different hospital stays. She is currently in the middle of a Stem Cell Transplant as her brother Slater donated his bone marrow to help save her life.  She is feeling better each day and with her positive attitude and her “it’s not a big deal” outlook, we all have faith that she will be back to normal in no time.

Thank you so much Aidan for brightening both Sidney and Slater’s Christmas day. To many of us that have children with cancer, the work you are doing off the field far exceeds the amazing work you do on it.

Here at the House of Hutch, we are so blessed to have the opportunity to meet such kind and inspiring kids and families. Please keep Sidney and her squad in your prayers. As always, we appreciate this amazing community so much!

Have a beautiful day,

Team Hutch
